The Montclair Hockey Club/Floyd Hall Arena Blue Star season begins the first weekend of October. Each season, we have more than 120 young skaters participate. This is an instructional clinic for 5-9 year olds. All skaters are evaluated for the first month and then placed on teams. There are two divisions, one for the more experienced skaters and one for the beginners and less experienced skaters. Once teams are picked, the boys and girls will have one practice and one half-ice game a week. One "game day" a month, our young hockey players a full ice game with real refs and music which provide an authentic game atmosphere. For most of our skaters this is their first time hockey experience. For this reason, our emphasis is on learning not winning. We give our best effort to make it family-friendly and fun, fun, fun for the kids. Our season runs until the end of March and concludes with our traditional "King of the Hill" tournament.
